The varsity 8-man football schedules for Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) and Orrick have been posted on the Missouri State High School Activities Association website. Orrick (11-1 in 2022) will open at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at Simmons Field against visiting St. Paul Lutheran of Concordia. This marks the fourth straight season for the Bearcats to open against St. Paul Lutheran, which moved from 11-man football to 8-man in 2020. After falling to the Saints in 2020, the Bearcats won the next two meetings: 26-20 in 2021 and 54-30 in 2022. NHC (4-6) will open against Sweet Springs at 7 Aug. 25 at Norborne. It’ll be the second straight season the Aggies have opened against Sweet Springs. They fell 50-22 in the first of two meetings with the Greyhounds last season. Sweet Springs won the rematch 22-8 in district play at Sweet Springs. Other games include an NHC-Orrick showdown Oct. 6 at Orrick. It’ll be their sixth meeting in 8-man football.
