Kincaid signs with St. Mary

Earlier this year, Tommy Burton experienced the thrill of coaching his first 1,000-point scorer as the head of Hardin-Central’s varsity girls basketball program. Later this year, Burton might get to experience the thrill of seeing that 1,000-point scorer, Ester Kincaid, play in her first college game. Kincaid, who’ll graduate high school in May, has signed with the women’s program at the University of St. Mary. On March 18, Hardin-Central held a signing ceremony for her and Gage Smith, who has signed to play football at Baker University. “I think there’s always been the hint of she had the possibility of going on to the next level since I got here – her sophomore year,” Burton said. Burton saw that “possibility” of Kincaid playing college basketball become a probability during her junior and senior seasons, he said.
