HARDIN – Norborne Hardin-Central coach Kirk Thacker and his Aggies are not taking a business-as-usual approach to this 8-man football season. “Everything is new,” Thacker said after the Aug. 10 practice at Hardin-Central. Well, maybe not everything. But there is much about the 2020 Aggies that is new. Like the offense. After years of ground-and-pound football, Thacker has announced he is installing a passoriented, spread attack. “It’s different … (for) the linemen,” center/defensive end Nate Hawkins, a Hardin-Central senior, said. “The linemen have to hold their blocks longer.” The linemen have other duties under the new system. To determine their blocking assignments, they must scan their side of the field “and see what the defense on that side is doing to be able to get their call,” Thacker said.
