H-C girls fall to Braymer in district semis

NORBORNE – Whenever Hardin-Central challenged, Braymer had an answer. The Bulldogs challenged Braymer during the first quarter and early in the second quarter when the teams met Feb. 23 in girls basketball in the Class 1 District 13 Tournament semifinals at Norborne, leading once (2-1) and trailing 13-7 after one quarter. They were down 13-10 when the Bobcats staged a 16-2 second-quarter run. Trailing 30-14 at halftime, Hardin-Central cut the deficit to 10 by scoring six points in 1 minute, 45 seconds to start the third quarter. Braymer, however, responded with a 22-1 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters and went on to hand Hardin-Central a 54-22 season-ending loss. “We were playing pretty aggressive the first quarter,” junior guard Libby Fifer said. “I don’t know what happened.
