NORBORNE – With the Hardin-Central boys entering the Class 1 District 13 Tournament at 10-15, coach Brent Behler knew the Bulldogs needed to stay focused to get an opening win Monday night against tournament host Norborne. “Our record is what it is for a reason. … I’ve told them, ‘We can’t take anybody for granted,’” Behler said. “We’ve let a couple slip away. We’ve had a lot of nights of rough shooting …, and then, we’re just a young team, so we’re prone to those young mistakes. So mainly (I was) just keeping them focused and just telling them, ‘Hey, we (have) got to go one game at a time, got to get the first one to get to the next one in districts.’” The young Bulldogs were focused enough to sink the Pirates 84-34. And they were focused enough to give what Behler considered one of their best shooting performances this season. “If we can shoot well, I’ll be excited to see what we can do the rest of the tournament,” he said.
