HIGGINSVILLE – Richmond junior Conner Teat had several reasons to celebrate Feb. 27. One reason was that he won his 100th high school wrestling match. Teat did so by defeating Lexington’s Josh Payne for the 120-pound division title at the Class 1 Sectional 3 Tournament at Lafayette County High School in Higginsville. “I’ve put a lot of work into wrestling and hitting 100 … (wins) as a junior just feels great,” he said. “(I) was real excited. I’ve been excited, knowing that … (it was) possible all year. It just feels great to do it.” Reaching 100 wins demonstrates consistency, Richmond coach Cody Beck said. “(It) shows that you’re winning, shows that you’re one of the top competitors at your weight all the time,” Beck said. “That’s big for Conner.” Teat endured two stoppages because of blood and another stoppage while the score was discussed before securing victory No. 100, a 9-4 decision. “It’s easy to get your focus off (wrestling), especially with all the stoppage of the blood…
