The Dolphin Swim Team did it again. The Richmond-based summer swimming club won its confernce meet July 16 at Marshall with 392 points. Marshall was the runner-up with 266 points. It was the Dolphins’ second straight conference title, coach Angie Pencook stated Tuesday via email. The championship also capped the club’s second straight undefeated season, Pencook stated. “I felt that our team swam hard and it reflected in a first-place finish at conference, (with us) bringing home the gold,” she wrote. “The team members displayed respect and sportsmanship, representing our community well. My younger swimmers strived to do their best; although still learning, they want to learn more.” A end-of-season team gathering was slated for Thursday.
