Denver Douglas, Brody Fifer and their Hardin-Central boys basketball teammates got a confidence boost Monday afternoon. With Hardin-Central’s 40-13 thumping of Albany and 44-26 victory over Stewartsville/Osborn in the Barker Center, the Bulldogs finished summerleague play at Lawson. The wins will help the Bulldogs when their winter sports practices start in late October, according to Douglas. “We’re doing really … (well) as a team,” said Douglas, who’ll be senior this fall. “The more games we win over the summer, … it’s just going to go on to the season.” The Bulldogs used a 22-0 first-half run to pull away from Albany. They led 22-3 at halftime. “It was a very interesting start to the game,” Hardin-Central post player Jesse Doyle said. “I think we just handled the ball well and executed like we were supposed to.” Specifically, the Bulldogs executed defensively, according to new coach August Hoeper. “Our press looked good when we had Brody up top,” Hoeper said. “Being aggressive…
