An attitude change helped Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) cruise to a 70-34 win Sept. 8 over Slater at Hardin-Central, Denver Douglas and Jaden Barrett agreed. The Aggies (1-2) were cocky entering their varsity 8-man football season, Douglas said Monday on the NHC practice fields at Hardin-Central. But they were confident, rather than cocky, entering their meeting with Slater, he said. “We wanted to win,” Douglas said. “We wanted to go 1-2.” Rather than confident, Barrett used a different word. “(We) were prepared,” said Barrett, a Hardin-Central sophomore. “That’s what I like to say.
