Coach recalls Marquez’s athleticism as senior heads for UCM

RICHMOND – Another area studentathlete is slated to play sports after high school. Jacob Swope, Richmond jumpers coach, stated May 14 via email that senior Dionte Marquez plans to compete in track and field at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Marquez joins a group of area athletes who have committed to playing junior college or college sports this school year. They include Abby Vandiver, Natalee Weber and Taya Weber, all of Richmond; and Izabella Anderson and Carly Thacker, both of Hardin-Central. Over the weekend, via a series of questions emailed to him, Swope reflected on working with Marquez and discussed what awaits to expect at the NCAA Division II level of track and field.
