Area teams move through Class 1 districts
TINA – There are fewer area varsity basketball teams still standing.
As of this writing, two of Ray County’s four Class 1 programs were still in the District 13 Tournament, slated to conclude Friday at Tina-Avalon. Here is a look at who got eliminated and who survived and advanced:
HARDIN-CENTRAL BOYS
The top-seeded Bulldogs, who drew a first-round bye, were scheduled to play the Orrick boys Wednesday in the semifinals, with the winner playing the victor of Wednesday’s Braymer-Southwest of Livingston County tilt for the title at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Hardin-Central played both Braymer and Southwest during the regular season. The Bulldogs cruised past Southwest 63-36 Dec. 6 on the road. Hardin-Central swept two meetings with Braymer – a Jan. 26 meeting at home, 64-59; and a Carroll-Livingston Activities Association Tournament semifinal Feb. 10 at Tina-Avalon, 55-34.
