Aggies face ‘kind of similar opponent’ after homecoming loss

When it came to treating last week’s homecoming game like any other varsity 8-man football game, Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) did about as well as one could imagine, considering it was “a crazy week, with lots of stuff going on,” Aggies coach Andrew Watson said. “The kids showed up (for practice) every day and they worked hard, and that’s all you can ask,” Watson said Monday by phone. In sticking with their practice routine, the Aggies prepared to face a Braymer/ Breckenridge co-op known for its pass-happy offense, led by quarterback Jordan Haley. According to Watson, the Bobcats (3-2 overall) stuck to their routine of passing the ball as they spoiled NHC’s hopes of a homecoming victory, downing the Aggies 72-24 Sept. 23 at Hardin-Central. “They threw the ball all over the place and, at times, we did … some really good things in coverage,” Watson said. “And other times, … they got the best of us.” NHC’s performance on offense was a mixed bag, too, Watson commented.
