Warren Owens

Warren Andrew Owens, 20, of Excelsior Springs passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 23, 2024. Warren was born Aug. 24, 2003, in Liberty, the son of James and Faith (Graham) Owens. Survivors include his mother of Richmond; son, Sekai Owens of the home; significant other, Kadence Barlow of the home; two half-sisters, April McCoy of Lansing, Kan., and Jennifer Owens of Excelsior Springs; maternal grandparents, Don and Barbara Graham of Richmond; and two aunts, Jo Ellen Sisco of Excelsior Springs and Hope Graham of Richmond. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Honorary pallbearer: Dalton Alston. He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother, Sarah Mickie Graham.

Warren was reared and educated in Excelsior Springs. He loved his son very much.

Warren also loved cars, making music and going to street races. Warren never met a stranger, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Warren Owens Memorial Fund or the Ray County Coalition. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with memorial services will be held Saturday, April 6, at the Richmond First Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the services at 3. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
