Jason Donald Fowler, 48, of Liberty passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City. Jason was born on March 24, 1975, in Richmond, the son of Julian Donald “Donnie” Fowler and Brenda (Hightower) Berger. He was united in marriage to Stanci Barnes from Oak Grove on July 15, 1994. They later divorced. Survivors include his three daughters, Samantha Walker and her husband Deven of Richmond, and Hayley Fowler (Shea Schroeder) and Delaney Fowler, both of Liberty; four grandchildren, Adailyn Carter, Colson Walker, Phoenix Schroeder and one on the way; father and stepmother, Donnie and Mary Fowler of Richmond; mother and stepfather, Brenda and Gary Berger of Liberty; brother, Kyle Fowler, and sister, McKenzie Fowler, both of Kansas City; and his significant other, Sarah Caton, and her three children, Gabrielle, Zachary and Haley, of Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Julien E. and Mariam Nell (Rages) Fowler; and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Maxine (Cain) Hightower.

Jason was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated with the class of 1993 from Liberty High School. He was working at the time of his death for Colvin’s Heating and Cooling in Excelsior Springs, where he was an HVAC master mechanic.

Jason had a love for science. He was a warm-weather type of person who enjoyed being around the water. He liked barbequing with family and friends.

Jason was a little bit on the competitive side and was known to be a little bit of a prankster who enjoyed playing tricks on others. He enjoyed bowling, but most of all, he loved his girls and cherished his grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jason Donald Fowler Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11. Private family inurnment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
