STILL UNDEFEATED

Nobody has found a way to top Richmond in varsity softball yet this season.

The Richmond softballers were 11-0 overall and 2-0 in Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC)-East Division play entering Thursday’s MRVC East road meeting with Holden. That winning streak included a sweep of their games in a Sept. 12 tournament in St. Joseph, hosted by Benton High School. The Spartans cruised past Lincoln College Prep Academy 18-6, downed Trenton 6-1 and edged West Platte 5-4.

Richmond’s winning streak also included a 23-0 romp past the Braymer/ Southwest of Livingston County/ Breckenridge co-op Monday on the road and a 20-2 drubbing of MRVC East for Carrollton Tuesday, also on the road.

HOMECOMING

Norborne and Hardin-Central will each crown this year’s homecoming royalty Friday.

That night, the schools also will come together to root on their varsity 8-man football co-op as it hosts Missouri Highway 10 rival Orrick at Hardin-Central.
