For Richmond senior Karoline Dooley, her final season of high school girls golf is less stressful than it might’ve been.

That’s because Dooley has a plan for her life – and golfing career – after the season ends.

Dooley plans to play women’s golf at Park University, where she’ll be a finance major and accounting minor. She signed with the Parkville-based NAIA school during summer break, she said. On Sept. 11, Dooley celebrated her decision by participating in a signing ceremony in her high school gym.

“I just figured, ‘Why not do it during the season that I’m committing for,’” she said. “And I’m committing for golf, and here we are.”

By signing early, Dooley no longer needs to deal with the pressure of schools attempting to recruit her during the season, she said.
