Officials are working through several construction issues at Ray County’s new 911 center as weather delays have left the nearly $5.9 million project slightly behind schedule.

The Ray County 911 Board recently received an update on construction of the new facility, which has a current contract value of $5,868,152, including $577,047 in change orders. As of Aug. 21, $5,388,489.81, or 83.6%, had been paid, with work continuing throughout the facility.

Work underway includes mechanical, electrical and plumbing work throughout the facility, along with sheetrock taping and mudding, interior painting, ceiling grid installation and interior metal stud framing. Crews were also installing underfloor conduit in the lower slab of the dispatch call floor.

Exterior work was also continuing, including final grading and efforts to improve drainage around portions of the property.
