Prep flag football is no pipe dream
High heat, drop kicks, random observations and points that amuse are all part of the wide, wide world of sports at the community and national levels.
I’m not the only one with sportsrelated wishes for this area and myself.
As you might recall, I’ve shared some of my sportsrelated dreams in previous columns.
They’ve included dreams of smallsided soccer being offered to students at small high schools, staging exhibition prep sports events through sister cities programs and staging the Olympics in the metro area. And, of course, there’s my dream U.S. pickleball/sports-watching/ music-related sightseeing tour (look for the next stop on that dream tour soon).
Recently, I learned a fellow pickleballer and I share a dream – to see girls flag football become an interscholastic sport at area high schools. And this dream might soon become a reality, thanks to the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).
