RICHMOND – The Ray County Museum received what is estimated to be up to a 150-year-old woman’s outfit – including a dress, cape, two skirts, three bodices and lingerie. Ray County Public Administrator Shannon Wollard presented the clothing in a suitcase to Ray County Museum Administrator Cathy Gottsch during a meeting of the County Commission. “A taxpayer came in and she was cleaning out some house north of town, toward Polo, and she found this up in the attic or something; and she didn’t know what to do with it, so she brought it in and dropped it off to me,” Wollard said. The outfit came in a suitcase that looked a century old. “I didn’t know what to do with (the items), because it was about the time (former Museum Manager) Linda Emley passed away and I didn’t know who to give it to, so it’s just been sitting down there in my office for a couple years,” Wollard said.
