Gospel music could be heard along the streets around Richmond’s Maurice Roberts Park last weekend for all citizens to hear. From the pavilion, a singing group called MO’ Praise raised their voices, amplified through speakers. “If you can hear us in this neighborhood, come on over!” the group’s leader, Sharon Mays, announced. Some did come over to enjoy “Victory in the Park” that day – an annual event presented by multiple churches and spearheaded by The Brothers and Sisters in Christ. “Our goal as a group is to bring Jesus to everyone we can. We just want to serve as He served,” said Wilma Gardner. Pastor Mike Stephens opened the event with prayer, as volunteers served hot dogs and drinks and children enjoyed face-painting. The crowd was wowed by the beauty and power of a couple of impressive horses owned by Joahn Hall, who is continuing the ministry of her late husband Howard Hall.
