Shooter caught after two-day search
A Richmond man was taken into custody by Richmond Police Department (RPD) after he shot a man and left the scene of the crime.
The department was assisted in the arrest by Ray County Sheriff’s Department and other Kansas City agencies.
Darren Lee Tackett, 35, was pursued Wednesday evening in Kansas City after allegedly shooting a Richmond man in the abdomen at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 19, according to RPD Chief Scott Bagley.
Upon arrival at the scene of the shooting — the 300 block of West Buchanan Street — officers located a man who had been shot at least one time, said Bagley.
The victim was transported to a Kansas City area hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
