Sheriff’s office recognized through Blue Shield program
The Ray County Sheriff’s Office has earned statewide recognition after years of investment in training, equipment and community partnerships.
The department recently received the Missouri Blue Shield designation for 2026 through the Missouri Department of Public Safety, which recognizes communities that invest in law enforcement, strengthen public safety efforts and work with local partners to reduce crime.
Lt. Col. Tom Noon noted the designation reflects years of planning and continued improvements across multiple areas of the agency.
“The designation reflects a combination of sustained investment in public safety and a focus on professional, proactive law enforcement,” said Noon. “Key factors included our continued emphasis on training and certification, implementation of body-worn cameras to improve accountability and evidence collection and ongoing investment in reliable fleet and equipment.”
