Sheriff given one more chance
The Ray County 911 Board received an update on communications from the Ray County Sheriff’s Department regarding the ongoing problem with warrant entries. Although progress is slowly being made, the sheriff’s department is still sifting through the “mess” left behind by a former jail administrator.
911 Board staffer Amanda Collins said she went through all the warrants from the March 15 meeting this June meeting and double-checked warrants dispatched, determining which had been canceled, when they were actually bonded and when they had been received.
“It actually looks like progress was made through May,” said 911 Board Councilman Matt Knolker.
“We had a little bit where we had it better but then this last month had a few not-so-good,” said Collins, noting there were cases that weren’t recalled promptly.
