Second case on Woodruff, woman’s jaw broken
A Wood Heights man who was already facing felony rape and possession charges, appeared in court this week on charges of felony firstdegree domestic assault for causing ‘severe injury’ to a woman, punishable by 10-30 years in a detention center.
James Wayne Woodruff Sr., 68, of Koala Circle in Wood Heights, had court this past Tuesday, Attorney Rebecca Abeln submitted a request of discovery. There is no scheduled court date for Woodruff currently.
Arrested on June 5, Woodruff was in court for a bond reduction hearing on felony charges of second-degree rape, three counts of possession of controlled substances and misdemeanor third-degree kidnapping.
Although the hearing was continued due to lack of representation, the prosecution informed Ray County Judge Lori Baskins there was a second case pending against Woodruff, as he was accused of breaking a woman’s jaw on March 19.
