SAFE seeks champion
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Substance Abuse Free Environments Coalition seeks community members who help youth set and achieve good goals for themselves.
“Our focus for the June Community Champion Award is on people who help youth establish high expectations for themselves and then encourage them to reach for them,” SAFE Program Director Julia Mees said. “We want anyone in the community who knows about a mentor like that to nominate that person for our award.”
The SAFE Community Champion Award program is designed to recognize a specific one of 40 developmental assets each month that have been found to be important to a child’s positive development and success in life.
Nominations are due June 30.
The individual selected will receive the Community Champion Award.
