RSB continues discussion of $8,600 deficit

$ Parents cooperation needed to avoid unpleasant, undesirable strategies The issue concerning an $8,600 deficit in student meal accounts, created by families who left accounts unpaid for several months, was discussed again in the June meeting of the Richmond R-XVI School Board. Although discussed in depth in the May meeting of the group, the topic was tabled when a solution was not determined. Board president Joe Dana explained sacrifices must be made to rectify the situation. “It goes without saying, but ultimately we need to understand when these things grow it goes from being a small thing to ending up hurting every other student – something has to be sacrificed,” said Dana, explaining the dollar amount will continue to increase if a solution is not found.
