Orrick student council teaches stress management

With the intention to spread mental health consciousness, two Orrick High School (OHS) students recently presented their “How Full is Your Cup?” campaign to Ray County Coalition members last week. Student council leaders Hannah Adams and Elana Boude also shared campaign details with the group. There are many reasons schools choose this campaign, the students explained, noting schools using the program typically try to push the following: • There is a reason they are struggling – and not because they are “weak” or that something is wrong with them, but because they are carrying more than their minds and bodies are designed to handle. • Stress or loss is a normal part of life that affects everyone in one way or another, and • They are encouraged and supported to talk about and seek help for those stressors so they are able to take better care of themselves, according to encouragehopeandhelp. com.
