On Aug. 18, members of Richmond’s business community relaxed and took in some Ray County history. That evening, the Ray County Museum and the Richmond News hosted August’s Chamber After Hours event, organized by the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce. Those who attended the soiree were greeted at the door by a youngster dressed in old-school paperboy garb, handing out free copies of the “After Hours” special edition published by the Richmond News. In addition to checking out rooms in the museum, visitors could enjoy a mix of foods and beverages – some of them retro-themed – including wine, light beer, bottled water, tomato soup cake, caprese sandwiches, apple pieces and fondue dip. After a summer hiatus, the Chamber After Hours event returns monthly. Each event is free and open to the public. Here are some images from the get-together, most of them captured by Richmond News staffer Shawn Roney.
