McGaugh-sponsored election reform bill passes House

State Rep. Peggy McGaugh is sponsoring a bill she hopes will help reform Missouri’s electoral process. Known as HB 2140, the bill recently passed 10137 in the House of Representatives, according to state House records. The bill has been sent to the Senate. “I am proud to see this comprehensive election reform bill pass out of the Missouri House,” stated McGaugh, whose district includes part of Ray County. “These reforms are necessary to streamline our election procedures, enhance transparency and protect the rights of voters. I am confident that this legislation will contribute to the integrity and efficiency of our electoral process.” According to Mc-Gaugh, a representative of the 7th District, the reforms would include expanding the availability of provisional ballots to all public elections and verifying absentee ballot signatures.
