Families receive guidance on Graduated Driver License law requirements

From commentary driving to parentteen driving agreements, families attending a recent driving safety program received practical guidance aimed at helping teenagers become safer drivers. During the First Impact presentation, hosted by the Ray County Sheriff’s Office, Program Specialist Allyn Workman discussed ways parents and guardians can help teenagers build safer driving habits and gain experience behind the wheel. One of the primary topics discussed during the presentation involved Missouri’s Graduated Driver License law and the amount of supervised driving time teenagers should receive before driving independently. Workman explained the law is designed to gradually introduce young drivers to more responsibility while limiting some of the higher- risk situations commonly associated with teen crashes.
