City sells $10,649 in scrap metal

The Richmond City Council amended its budget to allow for the allocation of $10,649.53 generated by the sale of three to four years of scrap metal in 2023. Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim met with Public Works Director Dale Shipp and Richmond City Utility Supervisor Aaron Misenhelter to develop a plan for the best distribution of the monies. “We evaluated the most pressing needs of both the departments and their staff to formulate a plan for allocating the newly acquired revenue,” said Willim. “An additional $10,649.53 revenue was collected so to put that back in, we have to put it into revenues, minus expenses,” said Willim. “When you flip over to the actual budget amendment, you’ll see us bringing in $10,649, in revenues and how we plan on expanding those out for additional equipment, repairs, uniforms, etc.” Willim noted the goal is to focus on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), equipment and equipment repair. “I propose that we direct the funds generated from the…
