Music therapy has a special place with Special Needs Services (SNS) of Ray County and the group’s new therapist is enjoying watching the program grow. The SNS choir recently participated in the Community at Play (CAP) Community Choir event inside the Ray County Library. Sydney Winders, a board-certified music therapist, has been leading the group for nine weeks and counting. “It has been a wonderful experience watching our group grow. Alongside connective conversations and musical activities, we are rehearsing more each week,” said Winders. “It is monumental to watch our repertoire build and each week our group improves and increases.” Each rehearsal starts with a group conversation, warm up, repertoire rehearsal and finishes with a closing song.
