RICHMOND – Having missed four weeks of inschool teaching because of COVID-19, Richmond High School Band members practiced and played together whenever possible, director Jeffrey Clymore said. They played at football games and at the Veterans Building for community members who united outdoors for Veterans Day. Under normal circumstances, the band would have performed for Veterans Day at the courthouse, but Ray County commissioners – one quarantined by the virus at the time – decided to play it safe by having the band play elsewhere. VETERANS DAY Playing for veterans is important, Clymore said. “We’ve always done Veterans Day,” he said, whether on this year’s warm, sunny day or last year’s gray, snowy day. “Since I’ve been here, we’ve always played the marches for the branches of service to recognize those people that served.
