Body BLUE SPRINGS – For the second straight season, a Kansas City-based private school ended Richmond’s postseason run in boys basketball in the Class 4 state quarterfinals.

Body RICHMOND – Richmond High School’s FFA chapter will host a donkey baskeball tournament at 6:30 p.m. March 21 in the gym.

Body RICHMOND – Lucas Rodenberg is about to make a dream come true. Rodenberg, a Richmond senior, signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Fort Scott (Kansas) Community College, where he expects to pitch.

Body OAK GROVE – The Spartans showed their “district mentality” during their 72-37 thumping of Excelsior Springs on Tuesday at Oak Grove High School in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament, Richmond varsity boys basketball coach Kevin Jermain said.

Body OAK GROVE – The Spartans should be proud of what they accomplished this varsity girls basketball season, Richmond coach Chad Snyder said after Monday night’s 41-27, season-ending loss to Odessa in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament semifinals at Oak Grove High School.

Body TINA – Orrick coach Matt Brownsberger and his Bearcats almost got their district three-peat in varsity boys basketball.

Body RICHMOND – Tadan McCoy has some studying to do. McCoy, a Richmond senior, has signed his letter of intent to play football at Ottawa University in Kansas.
