Richmond netters monitor progress, aspirations against LC

HIGGINSVILLE – During Tuesday’s 7-2 road loss to Lafayette County of Higginsville, Richmond coach Brett Terry and his Spartans got to see what kind of varsity boys tennis program they’ve become this season. And what kind of program they want to become. “For us, it’s not always about how many matches we win, but how we’re improving,” Terry said. “And so, I think it’s easy (for us) to see, like, ‘Hey, if we want to keep growing and keep improving, … this is something to look at.’” For Lafayette County, the Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC) East Division dual gave the Huskers another chance to pursue a goal they set for each competition, according to coach Jim Stoner: to play to their potential. And they did so, Stoner suggested. “I am very happy with what I saw, especially in the doubles (matches),” Stoner said.
