OHS gets first wins
Orrick has its first win of the season in both varsity girls and boys basketball.
Both teams, coached by Chris Harbison, opened the season victoriously Nov. 21 on the road. The boys cruised past Northwestern of Mendon 66-50. The girls downed the Northwestern/Keytesville co-op 48-21.
The Bearcats then got swept Nov. 24 on the road in their girls-boys varsity doubleheader with Kansas City Lutheran. The Orrick girls lost 41-28 and the boys were edged 51-43.
The Orrick boys rebounded from their eight-point defeat by downing Polo 67-49 Nov. 25. Orrick dropped the girls game to Polo 40-25. In splitting the varsity doubleheader, Orrick concluded a three-game road swing.
Orrick’s varsity home openers were slated for Tuesday against Northland Christian, a Kansas City-based school. Both games have been rescheduled for Jan. 30, Missouri State High School Activities Association information states.
