Dolphins swim to triangular victory

RICHMOND – The Dolphin Swim Team swam away with its June 23 season-opening triangular with Carrollton and Marshall. Spurred by 24 event wins, the Dolphins tallied 341 points. Carrollton placed second with 289 points. Marshall scored 209 points. Ariel Lee and Grace Bozarth paced the Dolphins by winning three events each. Racing in the girls 7-8 division, Lee won the 25-meter freestyle in 19.13 seconds, the 25 breaststroke in 27.79 and the 100 individual medley, a mix of the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle strokes, in 2:01.78. Bozarth won events in two age divisions. In the girls 13-14 group, she won the 50 freestyle and 50 breaststroke in 37.87 and 45.44, respectively. She also won the girls 15-18 backstroke in 47.31. Deliah Fewins, Carsyn Teat and Gabe Baker each won two events. Fewins, who competed in the girls 6-and-under division, won the 25 freestyle in 42.37 and the 25 backstroke in 50 seconds.
