AGGIES PLAY PHYSICAL
NORBORNE – Coach Andrew Watson challenged his Aggies to play hard and persevere during Norborne Hardin-Central’s 46-22 loss to Knox County Sept. 3.
They answered that challenge by scoring the ballgame’s final points.
Starting from their own 24-yard line with 1 minute, 20 seconds left in the non-conference varsity 8-man football matchup at Norborne, the Aggies stage a four-play scoring drive, capped byKeyton Laire’s 1-yard TD run and twopoint conversion run with 9.8 seconds left.
“We were just trying to move the ball and do some good things, end on a positive note. … Obviously, tonight didn’t go our way,” Watson said. “Injuries kind of … took … (their) toll, and so, we wanted to end on a high note. And I thought we did that. The kids showed good resiliency, battling till the end.”
NHC also scored the first points by staging a nine-play, 53-yard drive. Kobe Gibson turned a reception from Brayden Schick into a 29-yard catch-and-run touchdown and Schick added a two-point conversion…
