Ronald “Ronnie” Ford passed away on Sep. 6, 2022, at his home. He was born on Sep. 17, 1948, in Carrollton, MO. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lola, his daughter, Debbie (Steve) Howerton, and his son, Steven Ford. Surviving siblings are Vickie, David, Mike, and Marty. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, Elisabeth, Derek, Josiah, and Clay Howerton, Kaleb Downer, Anna Ford, Vivian Ford, and Preston Jones. 

Ronnie was a mechanic for all his working career. He started out working for Steva Stone, MO Rock Quarry, Waller Trucking, Richmond Transfer, Deffenbaugh Industries, and retired from Ray County Stone in 2017. 

Family preceding him in death are his parents; five brothers, Don Ford, Albert Ford, Nick Ford, Steve Young, and Jack Young; two sisters, Linda Ford, and Krista Jones; and his first grandchild, Ryan Ford. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the donor’s choice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085. 

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sep. 13, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m., with services to follow at 1 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Richmond Memory Gardens. Please remember to share your memories of Ronald with the family by visiting thurmanfuneralhome.com.
