Robert “Mac” Lee McClellan, 68, of Excelsior Springs, MO, gained his wings July 31, 2022 at North Kansas City Hospital.  He was born Nov. 25, 1953 to Gerald Eldon and Mary Joan (Douglas) McClellan in Brookfield, MO. His father preceded him in death. 

He is survived by his wife of 33 years and 7 months, Rebecca (Becky); children, Russell (Janel) Scott of Friendswood, TX, Shawn (Megan) McClellan of Maumee, OH, Lindsay (Mark) McDougall of Palmetto, FL, Rachel (Jason) Scott of Blue Springs, MO and Robert A. (Laurie) McClellan of Cincinnati, OH; siblings, Richard (Bernice) McClellan of Clinton, MO,  Patricia (Jim) Chumley of Harrisonville, and Michael McClellan of Clinton MO; brother-in-law, Dana (Linda) Reedy of Columbus, IN; and special friends John and Diane King of Laurel, MD who introduced him to his wife. 

Mac was the proud grandfather “Pa '' to 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; and loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. 

He loved his four canine companions August, Muffin, Murphy and Fuzzhead and kitty Socks. 

Mac graduated from Raytown High School, Raytown, MO and joined the U.S. Navy where he served for 16 years on submarines. He retired from General Mills, Kansas City, MO in 2018. He was elected to the Ray County, Missouri 911 board and served from April 2018 to April 2021 where he enjoyed serving his community. 

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and collected Volkswagens, which he enjoyed showing at car shows and cruising. 

Mac was a wonderful, kind and generous man. God broke the mold when he made him. 

He was cremated. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be Sept. 24, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Village Heights Community of Christ, 1009 Farview Dr. Independence, MO 64056. Internment will be 11 a.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus. MO-13, Higginsville, MO 64037.
