Cleo Frances Hayes, 91, of, Richmond, died Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

Cleo was born on February 28, 1931, in Carrollton, the daughter of Frank and Ora (Austin) Snyder.  She was united in marriage to James E. “Jim” Hayes of Carrollton on November 16, 1952; he preceded her in death on December 19, 2016. 

Survivors include: son, Gary (Mary) Hayes of Cross Hill, SC; daughter, Sherri (Randy) Huffman of Richmond; eight grandchildren: Jimmy (Renee) Hayes, Katie (Matt) Plum, Abby (Josh) Burstert, Ashley (Reny) Reis, Rayder Huffman, Bo Huffman, Kelly Cooper, and Kevin (Alicia) Cooper; and four great-grandchildren: Evan Plum, Avery Burstert, Lucy Burstert, and Kentrell Cooper. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

Cleo was reared and educated in Carrollton and graduated in the class of 1949.  She enjoyed 64 years of marriage; Cleo was a housewife and homemaker.  She was a member of the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond.
