However, for many residents of nursing homes, the reality of this festive time can be vastly different, often characterized by feelings of isolation and loneliness. For the elderly individuals residing in these facilities, visits from family members can be infrequent or, in some cases, entirely impossible due to distance, health issues or other circumstances. Those who lack family connections or whose loved ones live far away may feel particularly forgotten as the holiday lights twinkle and joyful songs fill the air.

The Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) has proudly maintained the tradition of honoring its fallen deputies. On October 23, 2020, a formal proclamation was issued, designating this significant day as Law Enforcement Day in memory of Sergeant Jeffery Perkins.
