For decades now, the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce has been providing trees to be decorated by local businesses, people, and entities which will later be raffled off from the $1 tickets or six tickets for $5. Richmond Chamber Director Jayne Taylor explained the money from the trees goes towards Christmas festivities, such as the Christmas trees, lights and metal frame designs for the lights.

RPD grant authorized by council

Richmond City Council unanimously approved Bill No. 23-31, an ordinance approving an award agreement and articles of agreement between Richmond Police Department (RPD) and Missouri regarding the Local Violent Crime Grant (LVCG) administered by the Missouri Department of Public Safety (MDPS). “The police department was awarded the $21,500 grant that they applied for as a local violent crime prevention. Anytime that we do an inter-governmental agreement between the city and another government, it needs to be passed by ordinance,” said Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim.

MOBUCK$ – State treasurer talks low interest rate program

Ray County Courthouse welcomed District 53 State Representative Terry Thompson and Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek to present the MOBUCK$ Program to county commissioners on Tuesday. Malek shared his plan to work on legislation that would expand the successful MOBUCK$ low-interest loan program’s capacity.
