2024 tax levy approved

The 2024 personal and real property tax levy was established during a recent Richmond City Council meeting after hearing no opposition from local citizens. Of the tax, $0.6656 per $100.00 assessed valuation will go to general revenue, while $0.1661 per $100.00 assessed valuation will be funneled to Park Levy.

Richmond Rotary gifts grants to organizations

The Richmond Rotary recently awarded various grants to 37 local organizations following a record-breaking fundraiser in February. Childers resigns, agrees to settlement

A settlement agreement has been finalized with former Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers, according to Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey. Childers resigned as sheriff earlier this week and was deprived of his Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification, as part of the agreement, which will prevent him from serving as a law enforcement officer in Missouri.
