Supreme Court suspends Judge McGaugh for one year

The Missouri Supreme Court has suspended Carroll County Associate Circuit Judge Joe Don McGaugh for one year without pay after determining he engaged in multiple instances of judicial misconduct, including excessive delays in issuing rulings, failure to fulfill judicial responsibilities, and untruthfulness in official proceedings. The ruling, which takes effect March 1, 2025, follows an extensive investigation by the state’s Commission on Retirement, Removal, and Discipline.
