Rotary donates $5,000; park project enters third phase

RICHMOND – The “greenspace” on the corner of Richmond’s downtown enters another phase of development. Phase 3 of this park project includes the addition of three concrete pads with pergolas, mulch, plants and rock. This project is a joint venture between the Richmond Rotary Club and the city of Richmond. During the regular City Council meeting on May 24, the Rotary Club presented $5,000 to Mayor Mike Wright as part of its 2021-22 District Grant Project. Rotary District 6040 provided $2,500 of the funds and the Richmond Rotary Club matched the remaining $2,500. Rotary’s District Grant Project makes annual donations to local clubs who prove they “have skin in the game” with local development projects, organization information states. “We have to have sweat equity in this as part of the grant,” Richmond Rotary Grants Chairperson Becky Treccariche. said.
