MATWARMING AND COURTWARMING
Friday is matwarming/courtwarming night for Richmond.
The Spartans are slated to host Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division foe Lexington in basketball as they crown their royalty for the winter sports season. A junior varsity boys game is set to begin at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity girls and varsity boys games, Richmond R-XVI School District information states.
The Richmond girls were slated to conclude a four-game road swing this week before facing Lexington. They started the stretch Feb. 3 with a 46-32 loss to Lafayette County of Higginsville, followed by a 51-31 loss to Holden Feb. 6. They opened this week with a 52-37 loss to Knob Noster Monday and were set to face Orrick Thursday.
The Richmond varsity boys played back-to-back road games last week. After tumbling to Lafayette County 7447 Feb. 3, they rebounded Feb. 6 with a 73-60 win over Holden.
