The Jeremy McGinnis family, of Hardin, has been named the 2024 Ray County Fair Farm Family by the Ray County Fair Association. The Jeremy McGinnis family includes his wife, Jamie, daughters Amaryllis and Kassie, and son, Kaden. Each year, the association recognizes a local farm family that meets its rules and criteria. “It feels good this community would acknowledge us like this,” said Jeremy. “There’s probably some other people a little more deserving than us right now.” Jeremy has been farming in Ray County for around 25 years. “There is a large farming community that supports each other and the youth that wants to be farmers,” said Jeremy. He started farming by working at the Hockemeier Farm in Hardin, learning as much as possible. Now, he and his father, Johnny, have between 100 and 120 acres.
