McGaugh, Vance vying for seat in District 7

Republican Peggy McGaugh and Democrat Joshua Vance seek to run for election to the Missouri House of Representatives to represent District 7 in November’s general elections. The Richmond News gathered some information on both candidates and asked a few questions: BACKGROUND McGaugh, 63, is the state representative for the 39th District, which encompasses Ray County, Chariton County and where she lives in rural Carroll County with her husband David of 41 years. Due to redistricting, Ray County will be served by two state representatives. She hopes to be reelected to serve a portion of Ray, all of Carroll, Livingston and Linn counties and be the new House District 7 representative. She has served in this capacity since winning a special election in February of 2018 to replace her son, Joe Don Mc-Gaugh, who had served the district since 2012 before being appointed as Carroll County associate circuit judge.
