Hardin residents plan trip to Capitol

SOPHIA BALES Staff Writer After years of dealing with hazardous road conditions on Missouri Highway A, Hardin residents will be heading to the state capitol in search of support. Residents have already participated in discussions with District 7 state Rep. Peggy McGaugh, Ray County Commissioners and Missouri Department of Transportation (Mo-DOT) staff. Now, Hardin residents are taking their thoughts and concerns to Jefferson City at noon on January 31, where McGaugh and Kansas City District Mo-DOT engineer Benjamin McCabe will discuss lines of action. “The Hardin residents are very proactive in continuing to search out solutions for the ongoing problem of the condition of Highway A and I am happy to help,” said McGaugh. “Meshing the schedules of MoDOT leadership, area engineers, federal, state and local officials along with the Ray County participants took a few tries but I am hoping by having everyone in the room together solutions can be found for this important issue.” …
